Greater Noida West: A theft incident has been reported outside Gaur City Mall in Greater Noida West, where a laptop bag was allegedly stolen from a parked car. Following a complaint from the victim, Bisrakh Police have registered an FIR against an unidentified accused and have begun an investigation into the matter.
Laptop bag missing from parked car
According to police officials, Phalanshu Agrawal, a resident of Golf City in Noida Sector 75, had visited Gaur City Mall on the night of June 8. He parked his car on the service road near the mall and went inside for some work.
When he returned to the vehicle after some time, he found that his laptop bag was missing. The victim immediately searched the area and spoke with nearby people in an attempt to locate the bag, but no information about the missing item was found.
FIR registered at Bisrakh Police station
Phalanshu Agrawal stated that the laptop bag contained important belongings and valuable data. After failing to recover the bag, he approached Bisrakh Police Station and lodged a complaint against an unknown person.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and initiated an investigation. Officials are now trying to determine how the theft was carried out and identify the person responsible.
CCTV footage is being examined
Police teams are reviewing CCTV footage from cameras installed around the mall and the adjoining service road. Investigators are checking who was present near the vehicle during the time of the incident and whether any suspicious activity was captured on camera.
Officials said technical evidence and surveillance footage are expected to play a crucial role in identifying the accused.
Police issue advisory for vehicle owners
The incident serves as a reminder for vehicle owners to remain cautious while parking in crowded public places. Police have repeatedly advised people not to leave valuable items such as laptops, mobile phones, wallets or handbags inside vehicles, especially in visible locations.
According to officials, parked vehicles containing easily visible valuables often become easy targets for thieves.
