JVCC laughter Yoga celebrates the joy of giving

Noida: One of the biggest festivals of India, ‘Daan Utsav’ formerly known as The Joy Of Giving Week was inaugurated by Commodore R Nath, President of JVCC, Sector 21, Noida. JVCC Laughter Club has been celebrating Daan Utsav every year since 2016.

It started with a Drawing Competition in which more than 150 children participated. The age group for these par for about 150 children between 5 and 15 yrs. Most of them were from BPL families and studying in a school run by the Divyatarang Educare Foundation. In this, the winners were Abyan Azim, Diva Rathi and Tanvi Rout.

Commodore Ashok Sawhney, Laughter Ambassador says, ” Our members decided to ‘give’ in all dimensions by initiating underprivileged children and destitute women to Laughter Yoga and actively taking part in Daan Utsav since 2016. During the next six days, our members will donate essential items required by various NGO-run schools and institutes; like Apna Ghar, Sai School and Sai Baal Sansar.”

He adds, “Anyone can contribute unused/ still usable clothes, utensils, stationary and other household items, in the Jalvayu Vihar Community Centre (JVCC), Sector 21, Noida till 3 Oct.”

The Goonj representative explained how the organisation utilises all collected material for the development of backward rural areas and helping people affected by natural calamities across the country.

Besides chief guest, Dr S Sahi, Laughter Ambassador from Delhi, Dr Kanika Sood, Director, Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, were present. In end, fruits were distributed to the children.
