Greater Noida: Greater Noida Police has busted ganja cultivation in the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking. In this major police action, a state-of-the-art ganja cultivation running in Parshavnath Prestige has been caught. The shocking thing is that the accused was cultivating ganja inside the house using state-of-the-art techniques. According to the police, the accused used to supply this premium ganja through the dark web, which makes this matter even more serious.

They were running the drug business by doing indoor farming

A joint team of Beta-2 Police, Narcotics Cell and Ecotech-1 Police has arrested accused Rahul, who was cultivating premium ganja (OG) from a flat in Parshwanath Society. Police say that such indoor farming is a new trend in crime, in which criminals are cultivating illegal drugs using flats in residential areas.

The interrogation of the accused is going on and the police are investigating whether more people are involved in this illegal business. The police have recovered farming equipment and drugs from the flat. This incident brings to the fore the challenge of the growing drug network in Greater Noida.

The accused cultivating illegal ganja was arrested by Thana Beta-2 Police, Thana Ecotech-1 Police and the Narcotics Team, 2.070 grams of illegal ganja, 163.4 grams of cannabis (OG), various chemicals and fertilizers, seeds and equipment used in cultivation recovered from his possession.

With the help of local intelligence and manual intelligence, accused Rahul Chaudhary, son of late Samar Singh Chaudhary, who was cultivating illegal ganja, has been arrested from Thana area Beta-2 near P-3 roundabout by Thana Beta-2 Police, Thana Ecotech-1 Police and Narcotics Team. OG was recovered from the possession of the accused and on pointing out of the accused, cannabis plants grown in pots of illegal ganja, 2.070 grams of illegal ganja, 163.4 grams of OG and various chemicals and fertilizers, seeds and equipment used in cultivation were recovered from his flat number 1001, Tower number-5, located near P-3 roundabout, Parsvanath Panorama.

Method of committing crime

The accused is a postgraduate English student who is well-versed with the Internet. The accused learned to cultivate cannabis plants through the Internet and social media. Cannabis seeds were imported by ordering online through the foreign website Seedsman and money was transacted through the PayPal app after which the accused planted the cannabis seeds in pots with the help of a full spectrum plant growing light at a certain temperature with the help of an air conditioner in his flat and prepared the cannabis crop. Including the total cost of seeds/fertilizers/chemicals/pesticides/electricity etc., the cost of one plant is around 05 to 07 thousand rupees. From which about 30 to 40 grams of OG is obtained. Whose market price is around 60 to 80 thousand rupees. The accused used to supply it to his customers through the dark web. In this way, the accused was earning illegal money by cultivating cannabis in his flat and earning profit.
