IMF lauds AP’s investments in education sector, inspires students from public schools

Vijayawada: International Monetary Fund (IMF) applauded the state government for investing in human capital. It felt that AP’s model is extraordinary, which other states could emulate. The student delegation from government schools got an exceptional opportunity to visit the International Monetary Fund at Washington DC on their second last day in the United States of America on Wednesday. The children got an opportunity to interact and engage with an inspiring leadership team including IMF deputy managing director Gita Gopinath and IMF executive director for India K Subramanian who was former chief economic advisor to the prime minister Narendra Modi.
During the interaction with the students, Subramanian encouraged the students to believe in themselves, work hard and eventually give back to the country, while Gopinath asked the kids to follow their dreams and be passionate in whatever they decided to pursue.
The visit organised entirely by the education department with the aim of providing a stupendous global platform to children, proved to be an excellent opportunity for them to gain insights into the workings of international financial institutions and learn from accomplished individuals who have achieved remarkable success in their respective fields.
During their meeting with K Subramanian, the students were privileged to receive guidance and tips on how to be successful in life. Subramanian’s personal success story, rising through the ranks to become a prominent figure at IMF, served as a true inspiration for the young minds. His words of wisdom and valuable insights have left an indelible impact on the students, encouraging them to strive for excellence and dream big.
“Similarly, the interaction with Gita Gopinath was a truly transformative experience for the students. Ms. Gopinath, hailing from a humble background, shared her remarkable journey of hard work and passion that led her to become the first-ever deputy managing director at IMF. Her words resonated deeply with the students, instilling in them the belief that with determination and perseverance, they too can achieve great heights,” said a senior official accompanying the students’ delegation.
Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has extended his sincere gratitude to K Subramanian and Gita Gopinath for their invaluable contributions in shaping the aspirations of our young leaders. “Their guidance and inspiration will continue to resonate within the hearts and minds of the students, empowering them to strive for excellence and make a positive impact on society,” said CM. The cheerful faces of the children reflect the real picture, said CM.
Meanwhile, IMD executive director Subramanian said that it was amazing to interact with the children from humble backgrounds in Andhra Pradesh. He expressed his happiness about the way the state government is investing huge on development of human resources. “Every child groomed in the right way will become an asset to the family, state and nation as well,” said Subramanian. He said that AP is a role model for the other states to emulate.
