Network18, one of India’s leading media groups, has unveiled Green Bharat, an annual event set to take place on December 13, 2024, in New Delhi.
This new initiative marks a key moment in India’s push for sustainable mobility, focusing on the economic, environmental, and social advantages of electric vehicles (EVs) while addressing the challenges that hinder their widespread adoption.
In partnership with Ola Electric, India’s largest electric vehicle company, Green Bharat will launch an ongoing, multi-platform conversation covering television, digital media, print, and on-ground events. This integrated approach ensures a comprehensive view of India’s EV landscape, encouraging innovation and collaboration at every level of the ecosystem.
The first edition of Green Bharat will bring together key policymakers, industry leaders, and sustainability advocates to discuss the future of electric mobility in India. Among the distinguished guests will be Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, who will attend as Guests of Honour.
Their presence highlights the growing importance of EV adoption in India’s sustainability goals and the critical role of government policies in driving this transition.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has emphasised the significance of the EV revolution, stating that it is reshaping India’s mobility landscape and marking a major step towards sustainability and innovation. This shift reflects India’s commitment to tackling climate change and fostering green growth. With continued investments in EV infrastructure, local manufacturing incentives, and technological advancements, India is poised to become a global leader in electric mobility.
Avinash Kaul, CEO of Network18 (Broadcast) and Managing Director of AETN18, shared, “The global automotive industry is undergoing a transformative shift towards electrification, reshaping economies worldwide. India’s transition to electric vehicles is not only an environmental milestone but also a significant driver of economic growth.”
Green Bharat aims to be a catalyst for change, driving important discussions and collaboration to overcome challenges within India’s EV ecosystem. By focusing on innovation, policy advocacy, and practical solutions, the initiative will play a crucial role in speeding up the adoption of EVs across the country.
The event will also provide in-depth insights into India’s current EV landscape, identify key challenges and opportunities, and establish a roadmap for making India a global EV hub. Through these efforts, Green Bharat will help create a greener, more sustainable future for India, inspiring collective action for environmental responsibility.
