Gas supply hit after pipeline damage
According to information, the incident occurred during ongoing excavation work on a local road. During the digging process, an underground gas pipeline was accidentally struck, resulting in a leak and immediate disruption to the supply.
Residents face inconvenience
Following the damage, the IGL gas supply remained suspended in multiple households for several hours. Residents faced inconvenience, especially during cooking hours, as the piped natural gas supply was completely halted.
Repair work undertaken
Teams from IGL reached the spot soon after the incident was reported. Repair work was carried out on priority to control the leakage and restore supply at the earliest.
Safety concerns raised
The incident has once again raised concerns over safety measures during construction and digging activities in residential areas. Residents have demanded stricter supervision and proper coordination between agencies to avoid such incidents in future.
Supply restored
Officials stated that the situation was brought under control and the gas supply was gradually restored after the repair work was completed.
