Greater Noida West: Rambhakta witnessed a spectacular confluence of faith, devotion and cultural celebration as thousands of devotees gathered at the Ramleela ground in Ecotech-12 on October 11 for the ongoing Ramleela Mahotsav 2026, organised by Prabhu Shri Ram Leela Seva Trust.

According to the organisers, approximately 50,000–60,000 devotees visited the venue to witness the grand theatrical performances and participate in the religious celebrations. The atmosphere reverberated with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” as families and devotees immersed themselves in the devotional spirit of the festival.

The event brought together residents from across Greater Noida West, highlighting the enduring significance of the Ramayana and the continued relevance of Lord Shri Ram’s ideals in contemporary society.

Birth episodes of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Sita staged

One of the major highlights of the evening was the theatrical presentation of the birth episodes of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Sita. The performances brought important episodes from the Ramayana to life through expressive acting, powerful dialogues and elaborate stage arrangements.

The artists captivated the audience with their portrayals of the revered characters and the devotional atmosphere surrounding these sacred episodes. The presentation offered spectators an opportunity to reconnect with the spiritual and cultural traditions associated with the life of Lord Shri Ram.

The programme also featured a Samman play, adding to the evening’s theatrical presentations and cultural appeal.

40-foot-tall Tadaka effigy Bburning becomes major attraction

The burning of a massive 40-foot-tall effigy of Tadaka emerged as one of the evening’s key attractions. As the effigy was set ablaze, thousands of people gathered at the ground raised enthusiastic chants of “Jai Shri Ram”. The spectacle added to the excitement of the event and drew considerable attention from the assembled audience.

The episode of Tadaka is associated with the early stages of Lord Shri Ram’s journey, when he accompanies Sage Vishwamitra and confronts forces that threaten the sages and their religious practices. Its depiction formed a significant part of the evening’s mythological presentation.

The effigy-burning ceremony also reinforced the larger themes of courage, righteousness and the triumph of good over evil that remain central to Ramleela celebrations across India.

30 lifetime members perform worship of Lord Shri Ram

The celebrations also included a special religious ceremony in which 30 lifetime members of Prabhu Shri Ram Leela Seva Trust performed traditional worship of the idol of Lord Shri Ram installed at the temple.

The members participated in the puja according to established rituals and sought the blessings of the deity. The occasion was described as a deeply meaningful and auspicious moment by the participants.

The ceremony highlighted the association between religious service, community participation and the preservation of Sanatan traditions. It also reflected the involvement of the trust’s members in supporting the annual cultural and religious programme.

‘Our aim is to connect every family with the ideals of Lord Shri Ram,’ says Deepak Yadav

Addressing the gathering, Prabhu Shri Ram Leela Seva Trust president Deepak Yadav expressed gratitude for the overwhelming participation of devotees.

It is an extremely emotional and proud moment for us to see such a large number of devotees in Greater Noida West arriving for the darshan of Lord Shri Ram and to enjoy the Ramleela. Our objective is not merely to stage Ramleela but to connect every family with the ideals, dignity, values and Sanatan culture represented by Lord Shri Ram. With the blessings of Lord Shri Ram and the support of all devotees, this event is becoming a celebration of faith for the entire community.

Deepak Yadav, President, Shree Ram Leela Seva Trust

Yadav further stated that hundreds of Ramsewaks were working around the clock to ensure that visitors could attend the performances and seek the blessings of Lord Shri Ram in a well-managed environment.

He emphasised that the festival was not the effort of a single individual or organisation but a collective initiative supported by Ram devotees across Greater Noida West.

Ramleela mahotsav promotes Indian culture and traditional values

Beyond its religious significance, the Ramleela Mahotsav is also serving as a platform for cultural engagement and community participation in Greater Noida West.

Through stage performances based on the Ramayana, the festival seeks to familiarise younger generations with the life, teachings and ideals of Lord Shri Ram. These presentations provide families with an opportunity to engage with traditional Indian narratives while participating in a shared cultural experience.

Trust thanks devotees and appeals for wider participation

At the conclusion of the programme, Prabhu Shri Ram Leela Seva Trust expressed its gratitude to devotees, lifetime members, volunteers, supporters and residents for their participation and cooperation. The trust also appealed to more residents to visit the Ramleela ground with their families, seek the blessings of Lord Shri Ram and become part of Ramleela Mahotsav 2026.

With its devotional performances, traditional rituals and strong community participation, the ongoing festival continues to provide a platform for celebrating the cultural heritage and spiritual traditions associated with Lord Shri Ram.

Jai Shri Ram!
