Noida: Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Noida organised a Diksharambh programme for first-year students of BBA, BCA, MCA and BAJMC at its Sector 62 campus.

The programme featured industry and media professionals including Amit Tiwari, vice president at HCL Technologies, Kushagra Pachauri, senior analyst at Accenture, anchor and senior executive editor Dinesh Gautam, Zee News anchor Lavina Raj and BBC senior correspondent Dilnawaz Pasha.

IMS Noida vice president Chirag Gupta wished the students a bright future and encouraged them to set clear goals and work towards them with determination. He urged students to learn from failures, remain optimistic and make planned efforts with renewed enthusiasm.

IMS adviser Professor Dr J.K. Sharma said the purpose of higher education extends beyond academic knowledge. He emphasised the importance of personality development, confidence, creativity and ethical values and encouraged students to adopt positive thinking and view future challenges as opportunities.

Amit Tiwari highlighted the importance of developing skills beyond a degree, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving and leadership. Kushagra Pachauri spoke about the need for continuous learning and upskilling, particularly as artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies reshape the workplace.

Dinesh Gautam told students that college life is an important period for giving direction to their ambitions and building a strong foundation for their careers. He stressed the importance of practical knowledge, technical skills, communication abilities and staying updated with changing technologies and corporate requirements.

The programme was attended by Dean Dr Vartika Chaturvedi, Dr Ajay Kumar Gupta, Dr Anita Pati, Dr Sachin Batra, faculty members and students.
