Noida: Chaos in Noida society as a speeding car crushes mother and daughter in parking

Noida: A shocking scene of negligence and high speed was witnessed in a posh society in Noida. In the basement parking of Mahagun Miravila Society in Sector-79, a speeding car hit a female software engineer and her five-year-old daughter. The accident was so serious that both got trapped under the car and were dragged for about 10 meters. After the video of the incident came out, people are angry and questions are being raised about the society’s security arrangements.

The family was going to their flat with stuff from the parking lot.
According to information, Arun Sharma lives in the society with his wife Ketika Sharma and their two daughters. Both husband and wife work in the IT sector. Around 10:45 PM on Sunday night, the family was heading toward their flat with items from the car.

At the same time, a Honda Amaze car came at high speed in the basement parking and hit the woman and her younger daughter at the turn. The impact was so strong that both got stuck under the car.

Mother and daughter dragged for up to 10 meters
According to eyewitnesses, the car didn’t stop immediately after the collision and the mother and daughter were dragged under the car for about 10 meters. The woman’s husband somehow managed to pull their young daughter out from under the car, but the woman remained trapped under the car for quite some time.

After local people arrived at the scene and started raising an alarm, the driver got out of the car. With the help of the people, the car was lifted and the woman was pulled out.

Woman trapped under car for four minutes
After the accident, the woman remained trapped under the car for about four minutes. After that, an ambulance was called, and the mother and daughter were taken to the hospital. The girl was discharged after first aid, but the woman’s condition was reported to be serious.

Ribs broken, collarbone fractured
According to relatives, the woman has three broken ribs, a fractured collarbone, and a head injury. Not just that, part of her stomach also got burned due to the heat from the car’s engine. She underwent surgery at the hospital, and treatment is ongoing.

Speeding in parking caused the accident
Residents of the society said that the speed limit in the parking area is set at 10 kilometers per hour, but the accused driver’s car was moving at around 40 kilometers per hour. There is also a sharp turn at the accident site, where it was very important to be careful.

Residents also alleged that according to safety standards, a convex mirror (mirror on the turn) had not been installed in the parking, so approaching vehicles were not visible.

Police took the accused into custody
The police have registered a case based on the complaint of the victim’s family and taken the accused driver into custody. According to the police, the medical examination did not confirm that the driver had consumed alcohol. The investigation of the case is ongoing.

Questions Raised About Society’s Security Arrangements
This incident has once again raised questions about the parking security arrangements in high-rise societies. Experts say that in basement parking, speed control, warning signs, speed breakers, and installing mirrors to improve visibility at turns should be mandatory.

This incident is not just a road accident but has emerged as a serious example of negligence and overlooking safety standards. Now the question is, will the society management and authorities take concrete steps to prevent such cases after this accident?
