
Noida : Under the direction of Laxmi Singh, Commissioner of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the upcoming Holi festival. The Commissionerate Police has appealed to all citizens to celebrate Holi in a peaceful and harmonious manner.
Approximately 1,080 locations across the Commissionerate have been identified for Holika Dahan this year. To ensure the smooth and incident-free observance of Holi and the holy month of Ramzan, the entire Commissionerate has been divided into 10 zones and 26 sectors, and the sector scheme has been activated.
Senior officers assigned zone-wise supervision
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Dr Rajiv Narayan Mishra will supervise Noida and Central Noida zones, while Additional Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Ajay Kumar will oversee the Greater Noida zone.
Further, Ravi Shankar Nim (DCP Headquarters) has been assigned Greater Noida zone. Twinkle Jain (ADCP/Staff Officer) and Vivek Ranjan Rai (ACP Cyber) will supervise the Noida zone. Poonam Mishra (ADCP Jewar Airport) will monitor the Central Noida zone. Diksha Singh (ACP Women Safety) and Hemant Upadhyay (ACP Lines/RTC) have been entrusted with responsibilities in Greater Noida zone to maintain law and order during the festive period.
45 sensitive spots identified, Additional forces deployed
Keeping in view the expected crowd at Holika Dahan sites and fairs, adequate police deployment has been ensured at all locations. So far, 45 sensitive and hotspot locations have been identified, where additional police personnel and PAC forces have been deployed. A total of 26 mobile QRTs and 4 platoons of PAC have been stationed near sensitive areas.
Over 165 peace meetings have been conducted
Police officials have already conducted more than 165 meetings with RWAs, village security committees, religious leaders, eminent citizens and peace committees. Community representatives have been urged to counsel members of their respective communities and cooperate with the police. Authorities have made it clear that any attempt by anti-social elements to disturb communal harmony during Holi or Ramzan will invite strict action.
Drone surveillance and social media monitoring
The police are maintaining strict vigilance through drones, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), surveillance units and social media monitoring. Strict action will be taken against individuals posting objectionable or inflammatory content online. Persons with criminal tendencies are being identified and prosecuted as per the law.
Strict action against drunk driving and hooliganism
Special drives will be conducted using breath analysers to check drunk driving. Action will also be taken against hooliganism. CCTV cameras connected to the control room will be actively monitored to enforce traffic regulations under the Motor Vehicles Act and other relevant laws. Drone surveillance will be deployed wherever necessary. All police station mobiles, PCR units, traffic police and PRV vehicles have been directed to remain on continuous patrol.
