Greater Noida West : Residents of Gaur City-2 society staged a strong protest after a garbage collection and segregation centre was set up on the ground floor of Tower-14 in 14th Avenue, raising serious health and safety concerns. According to residents, the garbage plant was developed without any prior information or consent from the people living in the tower. They alleged that waste was being collected and segregated at a place meant for residential use, directly affecting the health of families, including children and elderly residents.

Locals claimed that the garbage centre was constructed on a route frequently used by residents, causing foul smells and unhygienic conditions. The situation triggered anger among residents who gathered at the site and raised slogans against the society management and maintenance agency.
Residents further alleged that complaints were repeatedly made to the builder and maintenance team, but no action was taken. They said the issue had earlier been raised with the Greater Noida Authority as well, but relief was delayed. As the protest intensified, officials from the maintenance agency and authority reached the spot. After discussions, residents were assured that the garbage plant would not be operated at the said location and that necessary corrective steps would be taken.
The residents demanded immediate relocation of the garbage collection system to a designated and safe area, away from residential towers, stating that public health cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
