Gautam Buddh Nagar: In a significant breakthrough against rising online investment scams, the Cyber Crime Unit of Gautam Buddh Nagar Police has successfully identified and saved seven live victims from across the country, protecting them from losing crores of rupees to cyber fraudsters. The operation was carried out under the direction of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh.
According to officials, a special team led by Cyber Commando Sachin Dhama analyzed cyber and financial intelligence received from I4C (Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre) and NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India). The team closely studied suspicious financial flows and transaction patterns linked to reported cybercrime networks.
Through this proactive and intelligence driven approach, the police were able to locate victims belonging to Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Telangana, Odisha and Rajasthan all of whom had been trapped for months in high-return fake investment schemes pushed through social media platforms.
The fraudsters lured people by showing deceptive profits from stock market and other investment plans, gradually manipulating them into transferring large sums.
In an unprecedented step, the cyber police did not wait for complaints. Instead, they reached out directly to the victims, warned them about the fraud, and ensured they stopped further transactions ultimately disabling an active investment fraud network mid-operation.
