Noida: Domestic helpers play an integral part in our everyday lives, making our routines smoother and enabling us to focus on both our professional and personal responsibilities. Yet, behind their contribution lies a harsh reality: most of these women live in underprivileged conditions, struggling with poverty, domestic violence, and social discrimination.

Many of them reside in slum areas where hygiene and safety are major concerns, not only for themselves but also for their children. With no one to take care of their families, they often leave their children in unsafe environments while stepping out to earn a livelihood. Their lack of awareness and fear of police or legal procedures further prevent them from raising their voices against exploitation and injustice.

To address these challenges, the NEFOWA (Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association) Women’s Team has been consistently working towards the health and well-being of domestic helpers. The group ensures that these women receive sanitary pads on a monthly basis, promoting menstrual hygiene and empowering them to lead healthier lives.

Adding strength to this noble initiative is ACP (2 Noida) Deeksha Singh, a proactive and inspiring woman police officer. Her sensitivity and commitment have given this program a new dimension. ACP Singh has taken significant steps to provide legal awareness, protection, and support to domestic helpers, helping them gain confidence and a sense of security.

This collaborative effort between NEFOWA Women’s Team and ACP Deeksha Singh is not just about immediate relief but also about creating long-term positive change in the lives of domestic helpers and their families.

As a society, it is our responsibility to recognize their struggles and extend support. This initiative is a shining example of how collective efforts can bring dignity, health, and empowerment to those who silently support our daily lives.
