Greater Noida West: The long-pending demand for property registration has once again sparked anger among residents of JKG Palm Court, a prominent housing society in Greater Noida West. On Sunday, residents staged a strong protest inside the society premises, demanding the immediate start of flat registrations.

For years, homeowners have been urging the builder to initiate the process, but with no concrete response or even a meeting schedule from the builder’s side, frustration reached a tipping point. As a mark of protest, many flat owners have hung Registry Ki Maang banners from their balconies, turning the residential towers into a visual statement of dissent.

Even senior citizens of the society joined the march, raising slogans and demanding accountability. Residents say the delay has not only created legal and financial hurdles but has also shaken their trust in the builder.

Key issues raised by residents

Over 500 families have been awaiting registry for the last five years. Many of them received possession in 2020 but are still without legal ownership papers. The builder allegedly owes over ₹20 crore in dues to the Greater Noida Authority, which has stalled the registry process. Despite continuous flat sales, the dues remain unpaid.

In the absence of a registry, residents claim the builder is charging ₹1,000–₹1,500 per sq. ft. as transfer charges on resale flats. Residents also showcased AI-designed creative banners during the protest, giving a modern edge to their demonstration.

The protest highlights a recurring issue across multiple housing societies in Noida and Greater Noida, where delayed registries due to builder-authority disputes leave residents in limbo.

We have paid for our homes, but without registry, our ownership is incomplete. We will continue our fight untill justice is served.
