Noida: When it comes to the quality of life in our city, residents are the true watchdogs. The CONRWA Noida Chapter proved just that by meeting the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority and putting forward a list of long-standing civic concerns that affect thousands of households.

  1. Trees too tall, Pruning too rare

CONRWA President P.S. Jain drew attention to the Delhi government’s recent order regulating tree height and pruning.

“f Delhi can keep its trees within a safe and aesthetic height, why not Noida? Authority should schedule regular pruning to prevent accidents, improve visibility, and keep the city greener yet safer.

  1. One command, Faster action

General Secretary Rajeev Garg suggested a simple fix for slow civic responses: bring the civil, maintenance, water-sewer, and sanitation departments under a single leadership. Too often, departments pass the buck and it’s the residents who are left dealing with overflowing drains or broken roads.

  1. The freehold dream

Convenor B.B. Balecha revived an important demand, making Noida a freehold city. A proposal had been sent to the government years ago, but it’s been gathering dust. “It’s time we push harder,” Balecha said, calling on the Authority to take fresh steps.

  1. Sector 27’s never-ending sewer woes

Madan Lal Sharma painted a grim picture of Sector 27’s sewer system — blockages, overflows, and foul smells are a daily reality. Residents have been asking for new sewer lines for years, yet no progress has been made.

  1. Stray dog concerns

In light of the recent Supreme Court order, the stray dog issue was also raised. The CEO assured the delegation that effective measures would be rolled out soon.

Action promised

ACEO Vandana Tripathi was directed on the spot to reduce tree heights and carry out pruning urgently. Officials were also ordered to fix Sector 27’s sewer problem without delay and replace the outdated lines.

The CEO’s assurance

The Chief Executive Officer listened carefully, acknowledged the concerns, and promised practical solutions. Now, the ball is in the Authority’s court and residents will be watching closely. Because in the end, a better Noida doesn’t just happen, it’s built when citizens speak up and authorities act.
