The AI-612 flight took off at 2.01 pm today and was supposed to reach Mumbai at 3.35 pm.
An Air India flight, headed to Mumbai, returned to Jaipur 18 minutes after taking off from the airport in the “Pink City” on Friday.
The AI-612 flight took off at 2.01 pm today and was supposed to reach Mumbai at 3.35 pm.
“Flight AI612 operating from Jaipur to Mumbai returned to Jaipur shortly after take-off due to a suspected technical issue. Troubleshooting checks were carried out, and it was determined to be a false indication,” Air India said in a statement.
Following the checks, the aircraft was cleared for operations, and the flight continued to its destination in Mumbai.
Air India, in its statement, emphasised that passenger safety is the airline’s top priority.
Earlier on Wednesday, an Air India Express flight to Doha returned to Calicut International Airport two hours after take-off due to a technical issue. Flight IX 375, carrying 188 people including crew, took off from Calicut at around 9.07 am but turned back and landed safely at 11.12 am, an airport official said.
“There was some technical issue in the aircraft’s cabin AC. It was not an emergency landing,” the official said.
