Greater Noida West : In a move set to ease daily commuting woes, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has approved the construction of two new U-turns on the 60-meter-wide road stretch between Gaurs Chowk and Tigri. The project is expected to bring significant relief to nearly 40,000 residents living in over 10 residential societies of Gaur City-2 and surrounding areas.

Tenders have been issued, and construction is likely to begin within a month. With growing traffic congestion in Greater Noida West, the authority is focusing on widening major roads and constructing new U-turns at key points to streamline vehicle movement.
Strategic Locations Finalised
According to the plan, one U-turn will be developed in front of Gaur City-2, while the second will be constructed just before Khajoor Chowk. Once operational, these U-turns will eliminate the need for commuters to travel to the Tigri roundabout, thereby reducing travel time and easing congestion.
Project Cost Estimated at ₹3 Crore
We have received in-principle approval from senior officials. The process is now underway, and work is expected to commence shortly.

Existing U-Turns Already Helping Traffic Flow
Greater Noida West already has five operational U-turns:
- Two between Gaurs Chowk and Itehda roundabout
- Two between Itehda and Ek Murti roundabout
- One between Ek Murti and Roza roundabout
In addition, a newly completed U-turn on the 130-meter-wide road near Sector Pi-1 is benefiting residents of Pi-1, Pi-2, and nearby Biraudi village.
Upcoming Underpass and Foot Overbridges
GNIDA is also working on other traffic decongestion measures. An underpass is currently under construction at Gaurs Chowk to ensure smoother passage of vehicles.
Tenders for the new U-turns have been released, and approval has also been granted for foot overbridges—one near the Itehda roundabout and another on the road connecting Gaur City-1 and Gaur City-2.
