Noida: The Police Administration has made it compulsory to verify the tenants living in the area. For this, work has been started in collaboration with the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) and Resident Welfare Association (RWA). The concerned outpost in-charges have been given the responsibility to make the verification process effective.

According to the Police, lakhs of people are living on rent in the sectors and societies of Greater Noida, many of whom have not been verified. This increases the risk of criminals hiding in these areas. The administration has now become active in ending this negligence.

Landlords do not show responsibility

In the Peace Committee meeting held on Monday, senior officials directed concrete action in this direction. It was said that apart from rural areas, more than one million tenants are living without verification in urban sectors and societies. Usually, landlords do not fulfil the responsibility of verification, which increases the security risk.

The danger of criminals hiding

By renting out houses without verification, criminals also easily find shelter in these areas. Many times after committing serious crimes, they remain unidentified for a long time. Given this, there was a demand for verification of tenants for a long time.

The verification campaign has been started as per the instructions of higher officials. All the police post-in-charges have been instructed to complete the verification of tenants in their respective areas with the help of RWA and AOA. The police administration is aiming to complete this work soon.
