Noida: To provide relief to the city from the problem of waterlogging before monsoon, the CEO of Noida Authority Lokesh M. has said that cleaning drains before time will be given priority, but the ground reality is telling something else.

Clear instructions were given to the officials that negligence would not be tolerated at all.
The situation remains the same in Bhangel, Salarpur and Barola
When the drains flowing behind Bhangel, Salarpur and Barola villages of Noida were inspected, the situation was found to be very worrying. The drains were filled with garbage and polythene.
Children were seen picking plastic there, risking their lives, which clearly shows that not only is there negligence in cleaning but it has also become a serious threat to the safety of children.
Pretence in the name of cleanliness in Harola too
In Harola village of Sector-5 also, the drains flowing on both sides are in a bad condition. According to residents Monu and Sanjay, many people and cattle have fallen in the open drain in front of the temple. They say that this drain has proved to be fatal, but no effective steps have been taken so far.
Waterlogging is sure to lead to ruin if the administration does not wake up
Monu said that his house is near the drain and its walls have become very weak. Despite complaining several times, no repairs or cleaning has been done. If cleaning and repairs are not done before the monsoon, flood-like conditions can arise in the area in the first rain itself.
Cleaning is being done only in selected areas, the rest are neglected
On the other hand, the authority is cleaning with machines in front of the Botanical Garden in Sector-37. But local people allege that cleaning is being done only in those places where it is to be a show-off, while the areas that are in real need are being ignored.

The reality of the claims of protecting the city from monsoon is visible in this report. There is a need for Noida Authority to not just go through the formalities but also ensure effective cleanliness in the areas that need it.
