Noida: Noida Authority has launched a new and unique campaign to clean the city, which has been named the ‘No-Thu-Thu Campaign’. This campaign started on 27 July, 2024 and its main objective is to curb the habit of spitting paan-gutkha on the streets and public places of the city. In this campaign, street plays were also organized to make people aware. Through these plays, people were told about the importance of cleanliness and the harm of spitting in public places.
Campaign launched in public places
The campaign was started from the Evergreen Market of Sector-41 and the Central Market of Sector-50. In which walls, and public and community toilets were cleaned. Red spots made by spitting paan-gutkha were also removed. In this, NGOs and other volunteers of the city are working together. Officers and employees of the authority played an active role during the campaign. They not only stopped people from spitting in public places but also made them aware of the ill effects of this habit.
Emphasis on cleanliness ranking
An official of Noida Authority said that ‘No Thu-Thu Abhiyan’ has been started on the instructions of CEO Dr Lokesh M. This campaign is not just for one day. It will be continued further. The aim of the campaign is not only to keep the city clean but also to bring Noida up in the cleanliness ranking. This campaign is not just for one day. We will carry it forward continuously and try to bring a change in the mindset of the people.
These were involved
Senior officials of the Public Health Department Gaurav Bansal, RK Sharma, Arun Kumar, Arun Jha, Jagpal Singh, and Market Association President Praveen Bhardwaj were involved in this campaign. Apart from this, 102 members of the Institute of Livelihood Research and Training (ILRT) and the team of Guide Fortune Committee also participated actively.
