Greater Noida:  A 29-year-old trainee doctor died by suicide after jumping from the 21st floor of a residential tower in Gaur City 2’s 14th Avenue area on Monday afternoon, police said. The deceased has been identified as Shiva Sharma, a resident of Mathura, who had arrived in Greater Noida just a day earlier along with his parents to visit his sister.

According to officials, the incident took place around noon when Shiva allegedly stepped out of the flat and jumped from the balcony. Family members immediately alerted the police, who rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Shiva was a 2015 batch MBBS student from a private medical college in Delhi. During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, he reportedly developed mental health challenges that forced him to discontinue his medical training. His family told police that he had been suffering from depression since then.

A young man named Shiva has died by suicide after jumping from the 21st floor. His family was present at the time of the incident. Further legal procedures are underway.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further probe is in progress.
