Greater Noida West: Greater Noida West is set to get 10 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as the Greater Noida Authority begins preparations to strengthen the city’s charging infrastructure.
The proposed stations will come up at multiple locations, including along the 130-metre road and near the Truckers Point in Sirsa. According to officials, the locations are currently being identified.
The development is part of a larger plan under the Prime Minister E-Drive scheme, under which a total of 39 EV charging stations have been approved for the district.
Two or more charging points at each station
According to the authority, each new charging station will have at least two charging points. The expansion is aimed at meeting the growing demand for EV charging facilities as the number of electric vehicles in the city continues to rise.
Greater Noida West has witnessed rapid residential growth in recent years, with a large number of residents increasingly using electric two-wheelers and four-wheelers. However, the availability of public charging infrastructure remains limited.
Sirsa station to support electric buses
The proposed charging station near the Truckers Point in Sirsa could also facilitate the operation of electric buses in the area, according to officials.
A charging station near the Kasna bus depot has already become operational.
At present, five EV charging stations are operational in the city, while additional stations are being planned under the new scheme.
The expansion is expected to improve access to public charging facilities and support the wider adoption of electric vehicles across Greater Noida and Greater Noida West.
