Noida: A 65-year-old elderly man allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the ninth floor of a residential tower in Lotus Boulevard, located in Sector-100 under the jurisdiction of Sector 39 Police Station, on Wednesday. May 27, 2026, evening.
According to police officials, the incident took place around 4 pm. Residents and security guards rushed to the spot after hearing a loud sound from the tower premises. They found the elderly man lying in a pool of blood and immediately informed the police.
Police reached the scene and took the body into custody. CCTV footage from the society premises was examined while the forensic team collected evidence from the site. The body has been sent for postmortem examination. Family members have not submitted any written complaint so far.
Police identified the deceased as Paramjeet Singh, a resident of Tower No. 26 of the society. Officials said he had been suffering from a serious kidney-related illness for a long time and was undergoing treatment with a private doctor. He usually lived with his family in Sector-35 A Block but had been temporarily staying at the society flat for the past few days.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Singh came to the balcony around 4 pm and jumped from the ninth floor. He died on the spot due to severe injuries sustained in the fall.
After receiving information about the incident, the local police station in charge and forensic experts inspected the scene and collected evidence. Family members informed the police that the elderly man had been under mental stress due to his prolonged illness.
Police said no suicide note was recovered either from the deceased, the flat or the incident site. Officials added that prima facie the case appears to be a suicide, though further clarity will emerge after the postmortem report and detailed investigation.
A teenage girl was found hanging in a separate incident
In another incident reported from Harola under the jurisdiction of Phase-1 Police Station, a 17-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 night.
Ashu Kumar informed Dial-112 that his younger sister had hanged herself from a ceiling fan at their residence. At the time of the incident, Ashu was away on duty while their parents had gone to their native village.

The family originally belongs to Hasanpura village in Bihar’s Nawada district. According to Ashu, when he returned home from work, he found his sister hanging from the fan. He immediately brought her down and rushed her to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The girl’s body has also been sent for postmortem examination and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
