Greater Noida: From April 1, a 10% increase in water prices has come into effect here, which will directly impact the pockets of thousands of allottees. Greater Noida Authority has issued an official order in this regard. Like every year, water rates have been increased this year as well, so now the bills coming from April will be issued based on increased rates.

The effect of the new rates will not be limited to residential consumers only, but consumers of industrial, commercial, group housing societies, builders and IT plots will also have to pay increased prices. According to the order of the authority, the new rates for the financial year 2025-26 have become effective from April 1.

How much has the water charge increased?

The authority charges water bills according to the area of ​​the plot. The allottee of the plot of the minimum 60 sqm area will have to deposit Rs 2,280 annually in this financial year. Similarly, this amount will increase according to the size of the plot. In the residential category, the water charges will range from Rs 190 to Rs 2,199 per month, while for builders and group housing, this charge will range from Rs 8,250 to Rs 1,83,599 per month.

However, some relief has been given to consumers who pay the bill on time. If someone deposits the water charges for the whole year between April 1 and September 30, he will get a discount of 5%. At the same time, if the bill is not deposited by March 31, then additional payment will have to be made with 11% annual interest (half-yearly compound rate).
