Greater Noida West: Residents of Victory One Central are facing serious inconvenience after one of the lifts in a 20-storey tower stopped functioning. With only a single lift operational in the high-rise building, families, senior citizens and children are being forced to either wait for long hours or climb multiple floors using the staircase.
One lift for 20 floors
According to residents, the lift has been non-functional for several days, creating daily hardship for dozens of families living in the tower. Morning office hours and school timings have become particularly chaotic, with long queues forming in the lobby.
It takes 20 to 30 minutes just to get the lift during peak hours. Sometimes we miss the office or school because of this delay. Climbing 14 floors is not practical every day.

Senior citizens and patients are the worst affected. My father has knee problems and cannot use the stairs. This is not just an inconvenience; it is a safety issue.

Safety concerns rising
Residents claim that they have repeatedly submitted complaints to the maintenance team, but a permanent solution is still pending. They argue that in a 20-storey building, at least two fully functional lifts are essential for safety and emergency situations.
What if there is a medical emergency or fire? Depending on a single lift in a high-rise building is extremely risky. The builder and maintenance agency must treat this as urgent.
Resident of soceity
Not an isolated case in GNW
Lift malfunction in high-rise societies has become a recurring issue across Greater Noida West. In recent months, residents in multiple residential projects have reported similar problems:
- At Gaur City, residents had earlier raised complaints over frequent lift breakdowns and poor maintenance.
- In Supertech Ecovillage, residents had staged protests over lift safety after repeated technical faults.
- A few months ago, residents of Amrapali Dream Valley also highlighted delays in lift repairs, especially affecting upper floors.
High-rise living comes with responsibility. If lifts are not maintained properly, it directly affects the quality of life and safety. Authorities should conduct periodic audits of lift operations in all societies.

Residents demand accountability
Residents of Victory One Central are now demanding:
- Immediate repair and technical inspection of the faulty lift
- Regular maintenance schedule disclosure
- Emergency response mechanism for lift failures
- Transparency from the builder or facility management agency
Many residents have warned that if the issue is not resolved soon, they may escalate the matter to the Greater Noida Authority and consider a formal complaint.
For families living above the 10th floor, daily life has turned into a test of patience and endurance. Until the lift is restored, residents say the struggle continues one floor at a time.
