Supertech Eco Village 1: Contaminated water supply in society, residents suffering from acute diarrhoea

NGT has sought a reply to the notice within a week.

Greater Noida West: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken the case of residents falling ill after drinking contaminated water in Eco Village-1 society of real estate builder Supertech very seriously. (NGT) has sent a notice to Gautam Buddha Nagar DM and Greno Authority in this matter and sought a reply.

E.coli bacteria was found in the society’s water

NGT has sought a reply to the notice within a week. More than 2000 people fell victim to diarrhoea due to contaminated water in Eco Village. E. coli bacteria and bleaching powder were confirmed by examining water samples. In this case, NGT has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter and sent a notice to the DM and Noida Development Authority.

Water got contaminated due to chemicals

It is worth mentioning that chemicals were found in water tanks during their cleaning. Local residents said that chemicals were added to clean the tank, it is feared that the chemicals were not completely cleaned and a large number of people fell ill after drinking chemical-contaminated water, and most of the people complained of diarrhea.

The maintenance department does not listen

Shaifali Payal, a resident, Tower B-2 of Supertech Eco Village-2 says, “Despite paying the maintenance amount, there are many problems here. Contaminated water and lack of regular cleaning are common complaints. Even after repeated complaints to the maintenance department about this, they did not even pay heed.

Insects were found in Eco Village-1 Society

A complaint has been made to the Greater Noida Authority along with the maintenance department that there are insects in the water. It is alleged that the tanks are not being cleaned on time.
