Greater Noida: Residents of Supertech Ceaser Society in Omicron-1 staged a protest on Sunday over alleged poor maintenance and inadequate basic facilities. A large number of residents, including women, senior citizens and children, participated in the demonstration and raised slogans against maintenance agency YG Estate.

The protesters demanded that YG Estate be removed from the society’s maintenance operations and that long-standing problems affecting residents be addressed as a priority. Following the protest, residents also staged a sit-in and said they would continue the agitation until concrete action is taken on their key demands.

Residents raise concerns over lifts, cleanliness and drainage

Residents alleged that several basic infrastructure and maintenance-related issues have persisted in the society despite repeated complaints. They said lifts frequently malfunction, creating difficulties for senior citizens, children and residents living on higher floors. Residents also raised concerns over water leakage, waterlogging, cleanliness and inadequate drainage arrangements.

According to residents, repeated complaints have not resulted in a permanent resolution of these issues, prompting them to take to the streets to highlight their concerns.

Security concerns over theft, snakes and monkeys

Residents also raised concerns about security and alleged incidents of theft in the society. They said the increasing presence of monkeys and snakes has added to concerns, particularly for children and senior citizens. Residents alleged that inadequate maintenance, monitoring and security arrangements have allowed such problems to persist.

AOA alleges shortage of maintenance staff

Supertech Ceaser AOA president Sanjeev Chaudhary said there was an inadequate number of staff deployed for maintenance work in the society. According to him, the shortage of manpower has affected the timely resolution of residents’ complaints.

Chaudhary said residents have raised their concerns with the concerned agency on several occasions, but the expected improvement has not taken place.

Residents demand handover process within a month

Residents have demanded that YG Estate be removed from the maintenance operations and that a structured handover process be initiated within one month. They have also sought intervention from the administration to review the society’s security, lift operations, cleanliness, drainage and other basic infrastructure.

Residents said they would continue their sit-in and protest until concrete and permanent solutions are implemented for the issues affecting the society.
