Monday, June 24, 2024, live from the stock market: Monday’s opening of Indian markets was lower due to conflicting global cues.
The BSE Sensex fell to 76,816.22 levels, a loss of 394 points or 0.51 percent. Conversely, the Nifty50 of the NSE fell 122 points, or 0.52%, to 23,379.45 levels.
On the BSE, Sun Pharma and ITC were the top gainers and IndusInd Bank and Tata Steel the top losers.
Similarly, the top gainers on the NSE were Sun Pharma and Wipro, while the top laggards were IndusInd Bank and Cipla.
Trade also declined in other markets. MidCap fell 0.47 percent, and Nifty SmallCap fell 0.32 percent.
Sector-wise, Meta (down 1.04%) and PSU Bank (down 1.19%) saw the biggest declines. FMCG saw the biggest increase, up 0.09 percent.
