SMOG IN NCR: Poison of firecrackers mixed in the air of NCR, suffocating air attacked breathing and causing respiratory disorders

Noida/ New Delhi: The fireworks of Diwali night have made the air of Delhi-NCR poisonous. After the festival was celebrated, a huge increase in the level of air pollution was seen in the area since morning, due to which people are facing difficulty in breathing. Despite the ban on firecrackers, a thick layer of smog covered the sky in the morning due to the fireworks that went on throughout the night. On the second day of Diwali, suffocating air in the air of Delhi NCR has affected breathing. Residents say that even without smoking a cigarette, effect of smoking is felt in the lungs. There is a sensation as if something is burning close to nose.

Condition of Delhi NCR

According to the report of the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category with 328 at 11:00 am on Friday. The situation was also worrisome in other NCR cities, with Noida recording 257, Greater Noida 253, Ghaziabad 273, Faridabad 251, and Gurugram 296 AQI. Nearby cities Hapur (236), Meerut (202), Bulandshahr (232), and Baghpat (259) also recorded air quality in the poor category. Delhi and Gurugram in particular, witnessed the highest pollution levels.

The situation will worsen in the coming days

Experts say that the situation may get even more serious in the coming days, as air pollution levels naturally increase during the winter season. Citizens are being requested to use masks while leaving the house and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
