Ghaziabad: Very sad news is coming from Ghaziabad’s premium society Shipra Krishna Vista, Ahimsakhand, where a lift tumbled around 9.30 pm on Thursday, and six people were severely injured. The lift fell from the 7th floor and stopped with a jerk on the 2nd floor. Police reached the spot as soon as they got the information and started investigating the matter. Society residents are terrified about using the lift.
Know what all happened
The lift fell at around 9:30 pm on Thursday in the B-block of Shipra Krishna Vista Society located in Ahinsakhand-1. Ankit, who lives in the society informs that he lives with his family on the 10th floor. His mother-in-law Aarti Sharma, brother Siddharth and sister Ankush came to meet him. He boarded the lift with his son Viraj and daughter Ishana at night to drop everyone off. The lift was fine from the 10th floor to the seventh floor, but after the seventh floor, the lift fell with a jerk and got stuck between the third and second floors. As soon as the lift got stuck, the light and fan of the lift stopped.
Residents got severe shock in their knees and waist
Ankit’s mother-in-law fell in the lift due to the strong jerk. All the others got a severe shock in their knees and waist. After the lift got stuck for about 10 minutes, the guard opened the lift door. The lift was at a great height from the floor. Everyone had to jump from a height to get out of the lift. Ankit said that his mother-in-law got scratches on her knee and his sister and brother got scratches on their hands and legs. Another society resident said that the same lift was stuck in the afternoon as well. In the afternoon, a woman and a child were stuck in the lift for eight to 10 minutes and were taken out by the guard.
There is some fault in the lift
Balwinder Parihar, AOA President says, “There is some technical fault in the lift. The lift is in AMC. Maintenance work is going on. Soon all the lifts will be checked and the fault will be rectified.”
