Greater Noida, March 11: A major safety concern has emerged in Sector Beta-1 near Vishwa Bharati School after a water pipeline broke, leading to the formation of a large and dangerous pit on the road. Residents have expressed serious concern, stating that the situation could have resulted in a major accident if someone had fallen into the pit.
According to information shared by residents, the complaint regarding the broken water line was first lodged on March 6. However, despite the complaint being reported to the Greater Noida Authority’s water department, only a partial and temporary repair was reportedly carried out at the site.
Residents claim that the work done by the department appears to be incomplete and merely a formality, leaving the area unsafe. The large pit formed due to the damaged pipeline continues to pose a threat to pedestrians, school-going children and commuters passing through the area.
People living in the sector have questioned the apparent negligence of the Greater Noida Authority’s water department. They have demanded immediate and proper repair of the pipeline and restoration of the damaged road to prevent any untoward incident.
Harendra Bhati, who raised the issue, urged the concerned authorities to take the matter seriously and ensure that such negligence does not put residents at risk in the future.
