Greater Noida West : Residents and representatives from various societies in Greater Noida West gathered today at Amrapali Leisure Valley for a joint meeting and press conference. The discussion highlighted several major issues troubling the region.
Street encroachment and traffic chaos
The biggest concern raised was the growing problem of roadside vendors and carts occupying the main roads. Residents said this encroachment is leading to frequent traffic jams and accidents. They warned that if immediate steps are not taken, the traffic system could collapse in the near future.

Lack of clean drinking water
Another pressing demand was for a proper Ganga water supply. Despite being a densely populated area, Greater Noida West still lacks regular access to clean drinking water, which residents say is a basic right.
Homebuyers stuck without registries
Residents strongly criticized the nexus between builders and authorities. Thousands of homebuyers have not received their Occupancy Certificates (OC) and Completion Certificates (CC) even after paying the full amount for their homes. As a result, property registrations remain pending, leaving buyers helpless.
Harassment of society representatives
Society presidents and secretaries, elected under the Apartment Owners Act, are considered the true representatives of the people. However, residents alleged that whenever these leaders raise their voices against irregularities, they are deliberately harassed. According to them, some builders, middlemen, and anti-social elements create conflicts to silence these voices.
More worryingly, the residents claimed that instead of supporting them, the local police are misusing laws to target these representatives. They cited the misuse of BNS Section 126 (earlier CrPC 107/116), where false cases and FIRs are being filed against community leaders. This, they said, is breaking their morale and discouraging them from working for society’s welfare.
Residents’ demands from the government
Through this joint press conference, the societies have urged the Yogi government to take immediate action:
1. Stop police and administrative misuse of power.
2. Provide protection to society representatives.
3. Remove street encroachments and improve traffic management.
4. Start Ganga water supply at the earliest.
5. Take strict action against errant builders and negligent authorities.
Residents made it clear that they are determined to continue raising their concerns until concrete action is taken.
