Greater Noida: A serious warning has come out for momos lovers in Greater Noida. A detailed investigation by the Food Safety Department has found the chutney of many Momos centres to be dangerous for health. The department has clarified that monitoring of such shops will continue in the future and legal action will be taken. Residents have been asked to inform the department immediately about any irregularity or health-related problem.
Many people fell ill after eating momos
Recently, the health of six people, including two children of the same family, deteriorated so much that they were admitted to the hospital. Doctors cited food poisoning as the main reason behind this incident. The incident came to light on September 27, when many people fell ill after eating steam momos from Deepak Momos Center in Eldeco Green Society.
Food department alert
The Food Safety Department team took immediate cognizance and took samples of chutney from many momos centres. The investigation results revealed something shocking. Samples taken from momo shops in Eldeco Green Meadows and Tughlaqpur were found to be completely unfit.
Action taken against these shops
“The chutney of Rajesh Momos Center and Govind Momos Center located in Knowledge Park was also found to be unfit for consumption. The department has started the process of legal action against these three shop operators. This is not just a local incident but is an indication of a major public health problem related to momos in Gautam Buddha Nagar. The Food Safety Department has launched a massive campaign against those selling adulterated food.”
