Gautam Buddh Nagar: A joint health awareness initiative by Radio Amity 107.8 FM and SMART Project is gaining momentum across selected areas of Gautam Buddh Nagar. Under the SMART initiative, which stands for Sehat Sahi Labh Kai, teams are actively reaching out to communities where healthcare awareness and access to information remain crucial.

The campaign focuses on spreading awareness about public health, connecting residents with government healthcare schemes and encouraging positive behavioural change within communities.

Community meetings held in Barola

As part of the ongoing campaign, the Radio Amity team recently visited the Barola area and conducted a special community meeting with residents. During the interaction, people were informed about the importance of vaccination, the benefits of timely immunisation and the serious health risks associated with missing vaccines. The team engaged directly with families and explained how regular and timely vaccination helps protect children from several life-threatening diseases while ensuring a healthier future.

Parents are encouraged to ensure timely vaccination

During the awareness drive, parents were urged to get their children vaccinated on schedule and motivate others in the community to do the same. The team highlighted that awareness at the grassroots level plays a major role in preventing diseases and improving public health outcomes. Residents also received information about various government healthcare schemes designed to support families and improve access to medical services.

Focus on long-term behavioural change

Officials associated with the campaign said the objective of the initiative is not limited to sharing information. The larger goal is to bring long-term behavioural change within communities and strengthen access to better healthcare services. The awareness campaign by Radio Amity and the SMART Project is emerging as an important step toward community health empowerment in the region.
