Greater Noida West: Residents of Panchsheel Greens-2 have raised serious concerns over an alleged increase in stray dog bite incidents inside the high-rise society, claiming that repeated complaints to the maintenance team and the Greater Noida Authority have not resulted in any effective action.

Residents say the recent incidents have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity within the society, particularly among families with children, senior citizens and working professionals who regularly move around the premises.

Residents Conduct Ground Inspection

Amid growing concerns, alert residents of the society, along with the ‘Shanti Scotty’ security team, conducted a visit across the society to assess the stray dog situation on the ground.

Following the inspection, residents submitted a written representation to the maintenance team, demanding immediate measures to prevent further dog-bite incidents and ensure a safer environment within the society.

Residents said children have become hesitant to use the parks, while senior citizens are increasingly uncomfortable walking alone in common areas because of the presence of stray dogs.

Residents Question Inaction

Residents have questioned why repeated complaints have not resulted in a permanent solution.

They have urged both the maintenance management and the Greater Noida Authority to take the issue seriously and implement measures within the framework of applicable animal welfare regulations.

Residents argue that the issue should not be addressed through temporary measures after every incident. Instead, a coordinated strategy is needed to manage the stray dog population while ensuring the safety of residents and the welfare of animals.

Demand For Sterilisation, Vaccination And Designated Feeding Zones

Residents have called for immediate action for sterilisation and vaccination of stray dogs in accordance with applicable rules. They have also suggested that designated feeding zones be identified so that feeding does not take place randomly in residential movement areas.

The residents are seeking a structured mechanism involving the maintenance team, the Greater Noida Authority and relevant animal welfare agencies to address complaints and monitor the situation.

For residents, the issue is not merely about stray dogs but also about ensuring safe access to parks, walkways and common areas.

They have urged the authorities and maintenance management to move beyond assurances and take concrete action to prevent further incidents.

Residents say safety in a residential society is a basic necessity and are demanding a time-bound, lawful and sustainable solution to the stray dog issue at Panchsheel Greens-2.
