The district basic education officer announced late Wednesday that all Gautam Budh Nagar district schools will be closed until Class 8 on November 7 due to Chhath Puja celebrations. The order was issued in accordance with the Uttar Pradesh basic education council’s directives.

According to officials, the directive applies to all recognized schools connected to various boards, such as the UP Board, IB, ICSE, and CBSE.
“All schools up to Class 8 in Gautam Budh Nagar, recognized by CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board, and others, are to observe a holiday on November 7 for Chhath Puja,” stated the November 6 directive issued by basic education officer Rahul Pawar. All schools are required to strictly follow the directive’s instructions.
Devotees will worship the sun deity on November 7 (Thursday) and November 8 (Friday), marking the conclusion of the festival, which started on November 5.
Numerous municipal and cultural groups, in conjunction with authorities, have made significant arrangements for devotees to ensure a smooth experience. Thousands of devotees are anticipated to attend the festival, and preparations have been made to accommodate them.
