Noida: To address the growing traffic problems, a delegation from the DDRWA Federation met with DCP Traffic Abhay Kumar Mishra on Saturday. Led by Federation President NP Singh, the officials outlined the city’s major traffic problems and suggested solutions
The delegation stated that the increasing number of vehicles, poor road engineering, unplanned U-turns, illegal parking, encroachment, and uncontrolled movement of e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws are contributing to the growing problem of traffic jams. The most severe problems occur around major metro stations, markets, and main intersections.
The meeting demanded action against e-rickshaw and auto parking in Sector 18, Sector 51, and 52 metro stations, the Botanical Garden, Atta Market, and Sector 62. The Federation also raised the issue of traffic jams at the Sector 52 U-turn, Spectrum Mall, Sector 37 intersection, the Mahamaya flyover, and the expressway entrance. The delegation stated that many U-turns and road designs are not in accordance with scientific standards, contributing to accidents and traffic jams.
The Federation also demanded action against commercial e-rickshaw operations within sectors, illegal three-wheeler stands, commercial vehicles parked on roads, and banquet halls operating without parking arrangements. It also suggested deployment of police personnel at major metro stations for the safety of women and children. Senior Vice President Sanjeev Kumar, Vice President Anil Singh, Mahipal Singh, SP Chauhan, RC Gupta, PK Singh, Puneet Shukla, Lalit Chauhan, etc. were present at the meeting.
