Noida: The long-awaited Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is now set to be completed and operational by November 2025, according to Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, the state’s Industrial Development Minister.
Speaking to the media following a review meeting with officials from the Yamuna Industrial Expressway Development Authority (YIEDA), Nandi stated that the airport project, which had stalled for years, is finally nearing completion.
“During the previous SP and BSP governments, the Jewar airport project was like a genie in a bottle — it would occasionally emerge, only to disappear again. The file was gathering dust for years. We have worked consistently on this for eight years, and the airport will be ready by November,” he said.
Noida International Airport will become the fourth-largest in the world and the largest in Asia upon completion.
Since its foundation stone was laid in November 2021, the airport has missed several operational deadlines. Initially scheduled to open on September 29, 2024, the launch was pushed to April 2025 and later to June 30, 2025. The new target is now November 2025.
Minister Nandi, who is currently on a two-day visit to Noida, Greater Noida and other areas under YEIDA, emphasised that the state government has directed officials to accelerate the pace of construction and ensure no further delays.
“We reviewed the progress and issued instructions to fast-track the remaining work,” he added
