NOIDA: The community food service at Sector 49 Labour Chowk, where daily wage workers congregate to be engaged by potential clients in Noida, has been launched by the Noida administration in collaboration with Iskcon temple.

According to officials, anyone who would like to help out by distributing meals on important events like marriages, anniversaries of deaths, or birthdays can do so at the Sector 49 facility.
“At Sector 49 Labour Chowk, a community kitchen was just opened, providing free meals to 488 laborers who work every day. Feedback from the daily bettors present at the location was also gathered in order to improve the facilities in the days to come. The Noida authorities has stated that the Sector 49 Labour Chowk facility, along with numerous others that will be built in the similar manner, will be accessible to Noida residents for any kind of donation, including feeding the less fortunate.
Deputy general manager (civil), Noida authority, SP Singh, stated, “As of now, we have been providing the food free of cost. Based on the feedback and response from the workers, laborers, we will take a call on other things including rates of the plate.”
“The menu will include aalu sabzi, puri, halwa, khichdi, and chola-rice, among other food varieties, to be served at one time in the morning, and a single plate is likely to cost just ₹10.” Approximately 500–600 laborers have been eating at the facility every day since the service started, Singh continued.
Indeed, Noida is home to ten or twelve labor chowks, with locations including Harola, Sector 57, Sector 63, and Parthala among others. According to officials, an average of 1,000 bets are received each day at Sector 49 Labour Chowk.
The laborers had already pleaded with the Noida authorities that the public convenience now in place was insufficient and that a covered sitting area was necessary. As a result, authorities were told to start working on some of the projects right now.
The officials in question were then instructed to provide reasonably priced food, repair and resurface the road across from Sector 48, fix the broken footpaths at the DSC Road opposite the gas station, and build cement ramps over large drains in the vicinity, among other things.
