In the meeting of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to be held next week, the CEO of Noida Authority has been called for the presentation of 2 projects of metro from Botanical Garden to Sector-142 and Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki. At the same time, there is no discussion about running the metro till Greater Noida West.
There will be a 2.6 km long elevated track from Greater Noida Depot Station to Bodaki. After getting approval from the Center, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) will appoint a design consultant for this route. After this, the tender will be issued to start construction. NMRC officials said that this will be the extension route of the Aqua Line. Currently, the metro is running on Aqua Line from Sector-51 of Noida to Depot Metro Station of Greno.
Now the metro will run from Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki. Only 2 metro stations will be built on this route, Junpat and Bodaki. A big station will be built in Bodaki. This will be the shortest route of metro in the district. About Rs 416 crore will be spent on this. Since its budget is less than five hundred crores, there is no need to get approval from the cabinet for this and work on this project can start soon.
After the approval of the Bodaki route, the Sector-142 to Botanical Garden route can also be approved by the Cabinet in the next one or two months. In the next phase, the Noida to Greater Noida West route will be approved.
A multipurpose transport hub will be built here
The station to be built in Bodaki will be a big metro station. A multipurpose transport hub will also be built here. Hotels will also be built for people to stay. Train, metro, interstate bus stand and local transport facilities will also be available here. Railway and bus terminals will be built. In such a situation, there will be a large number of people moving around. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to run the metro on this route.
It will take 3 years to complete the work
According to the officials, after the work starts, it will take about 3 years to complete. If the Bodaki route gets approval from the Center this month, then the RFP will be issued next month for the selection of the design consultant. The agency will be selected in one and a half to two months. After this, the agency will submit the preliminary report in the next four months. On this basis, tenders will be issued to construct the route. Agencies will be given about three months to apply for the tender. Once the agency is selected, work will start in the next two to three months. According to this, it will take one year for the work to start.
Approval has been received twice
The state government has approved the DPR of the Metro expansion project in Greater Noida West twice. The second approval was received on February 5 this year. Assurances have been given many times that the work of the metro on this route will start soon, but till now its work has not started.
Continuous efforts are being made for Greater Noida West
The public representatives of the district are trying to start the metro operation on the Greater Noida West route first. Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma has also raised this matter in Parliament. He has also met Union Minister Manohar Lal twice. The Union Minister has also assured him that work will be started on this route soon. Despite this, it is taking time.
