Vacant restaurant spaces and deteriorating facilities at Master Green Park in Sector 117 have sparked concerns among residents.

Noida : What was once envisioned as a green recreational space for thousands of residents across Sectors 73, 74, 117 and 120 has now become a symbol of neglect and wasted public money. Residents have raised concerns over the condition of Master Green Park in Sector 117, a public park developed to provide walking and leisure facilities to families living in the surrounding sectors. Along with landscaped green areas, the project also included the construction of AC and non-AC restaurant spaces, drinking water facilities and public toilets to enhance the visitor experience.

However, nearly five years after the park’s development, residents claim that not a single restaurant or commercial outlet has become operational. The shops and restaurant spaces remain vacant, raising questions about planning, execution and utilization of public funds.

According to residents, lakhs of rupees were spent on creating these facilities, yet they have failed to serve their intended purpose. The public toilets are reportedly in a dilapidated condition, with broken fittings and poor maintenance. Visitors also complain that drinking water facilities are either non-functional or unavailable.

Master Green Park, Sector 117: Vacant shops, broken facilities and growing resident concerns over neglected infrastructure.

Residents say that while the park continues to attract walkers and families, the supporting infrastructure has been left unattended. They believe that regular maintenance, timely operation of commercial facilities and accountability from the concerned authorities are necessary to ensure that taxpayer money is not wasted.

The issue has prompted residents to demand immediate intervention from the authorities. They have urged officials to inspect the site, restore basic amenities and clarify why the restaurant spaces have remained unused for years despite substantial public investment.

As Noida continues to expand its urban infrastructure, residents argue that development projects must not stop at construction alone. Proper operation, maintenance and public accountability are equally important to ensure that community assets serve the people for whom they were built.
