Noida: The state of the green belt and parks of Sector-99, LIG flats is getting worse in this scorching heat. The parks turn into hubs of dirt and dust. No one from the authority turn up to take care of the dying plants and trees.
The temperature is touching 45 degrees, but not a single drop of water is reaching the roots of the trees. The trees planted in the green belt are on the verge of drying up, and dust is engulfing the parks to such an extent that children who come to play in the evening are finding it difficult to breathe.
‘Where there should be greenery, diseases are breeding today’
Due to the inactivity of the Horticultural Department, there is neither grass left in the parks, nor are the trees being pruned, nor is spraying being done. The result is that the parks have now become a hub of dirt and dust. The elderly and children are suffering from allergies, asthma, and skin diseases due to the dust blowing in the evening. Have the Noida Authority and Garden Department become so incompetent that they are looking for greenery only in files and tenders?

‘All time excuse- Work is in Progress’
The water motor in the green belt has been out of order for many years, but neither the department nor any contractor took notice of it. Complaints were sent again and again, but the only replies were excuses like ‘work in progress’.

Suggestion by the residents
Regular supply of water in the green belt should be ensured.
Daily spraying should be done for dust control.
For the safety of children, parks should be cleaned and grass should be grown.
Strict action should be taken against motor repair and the contractor’s negligence.
