Greater Noida West: The weekly ‘Janta Ki Thali’ paid tribute to the legendary industrialist JRD Ratan Tata. In this program, more than 2000 people along with members of Nefowa paid tribute to him and after that, they were served a nutritious meal of Puri, Sabzi and Halwa, for which no mandatory fee was charged. As per tradition, some needy people voluntarily contributed Rs 5.
The program started by bowing head and offering prayers to the departed soul
Every person who came for the meal paid tribute to Ratan Tata by bowing before receiving the food. JRD Ratan Tata’s contribution to society, country, industry as well as many other fields including medicine/education for the welfare of the common man is highly appreciable.
Abhishek Kumar, President, Nefowa says, “JRD Ratan Tata is widely considered to be the industrialist of the common man. He has left an indelible mark on India’s growth story not only through his visionary leadership but also through his charity, empathy and commitment towards the common man. It is surprising that during this period, he donated two-thirds of his income to charity.“
He continues, “He is admired by all for his generous investments in startups and new ventures. Animal lovers see him as an ambassador for the welfare of stray animals. The working class respects him as an employee-friendly industrialist, and the common man sees him as a true nationalist. Through his generosity and leadership, Ratan Tata has become a symbol of selfless service to the nation, and today’s ‘Janta Ki Thali’ was a small tribute to his enduring legacy.“
