Noida: The community radio station Salam Namaste of IMS Noida concluded its ‘Kitab Ghar’ Reading Mission with a vibrant closing ceremony. The campaign aimed to cultivate reading habits among students, encourage a lifelong interest in books and promote a strong reading culture within the community.
More than 70 students participated in the concluding event, demonstrating their enthusiasm for books and reaffirming their commitment to regular reading.
Students Share Book Reviews and Reading Experiences
During the programme, students introduced their favourite books and shared how reading has positively influenced their knowledge, personality development, creative thinking and self-confidence.
Participants described books as true guides in life and pledged to continue reading while motivating others to embrace the habit of reading.
Inspirational Literary Quotes Motivate Young Readers
Station Head Varsha Chhabaria said the ceremony also featured inspiring quotes from renowned authors that encouraged students to appreciate the value of books.
Among the highlighted quotations were Neil Gaiman’s famous words, “A book is a dream that you hold in your hands,” Joseph Addison’s observation, “Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body,” and Charles W. Eliot’s statement that “Books are the quietest and most constant friends.”
She added that the Reading Mission was organised jointly by Community Radio Salam Namaste, P.N. Panicker Foundation, CEMCA and the Community Radio Association.
Students Honoured for Outstanding Participation
The event concluded with the felicitation of students who displayed exceptional enthusiasm towards reading. Girvani Gupta, Rupin and Adarsh Jyotiraj were presented with certificates of appreciation for their active participation and commitment to book reading.
Organisers expressed hope that the initiative would continue to inspire young readers and strengthen the culture of learning through books.
