IMS Law College hosts SCC Online training session on digital legal research

Noida: The Department of Law at IMS Law College, Noida, organised a training session on SCC Online for students and faculty members. Sanjay Kapoor, vice president of SCC Online, conducted the session as the expert trainer and introduced participants to effective techniques and practical approaches for conducting legal research through digital platforms.

The training session aimed to familiarise students and faculty members with modern digital legal research resources, advanced search techniques and methods to make legal research more organised, accurate and time-efficient.

Live demonstration of SCC Online tools

During the session, Sanjay Kapoor provided hands-on training through a live demonstration of various tools and features available on SCC Online. He explained how to effectively search for case laws, journals, legislation and legal commentaries, along with techniques to identify relevant legal authorities for research.

He highlighted the growing importance of digital legal databases in the academic and professional development of law students. Participants were also guided on how digital legal resources can be used for assignments, academic writing, classroom preparation, research papers and future professional legal work.

The session also focused on different search strategies that can help students conduct more precise and efficient legal research. Participants were introduced to ways of making the most of the resources and features available on the digital platform.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anjum Hasan, head of the Department of Law at IMS Law College, said that the importance of digital research in the legal field is increasing steadily.

She said the training provided students and faculty members with practical knowledge of using the SCC Online platform, search techniques and different legal research strategies. According to her, these skills will prove useful in their academic and research work.

The training concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students and faculty members raised several queries related to legal research.
