If you are planning to buy a second-hand car, be careful! In Noida, a unique gang involved in stealing cars with bank loan disputes has been exposed

Noida:If you are also planning to buy a second-hand car from a dealer, be careful because the Noida police have busted a gang involved in stealing cars with bank loan disputes and reselling them. This gang would cheat people under the pretense of buying and selling second-hand cars and would exploit technical loopholes to evade the law.

There have been shocking revelations during the police investigation as well. According to police officials, the arrested dealer would first buy cars with bank loan disputes or financed cars at cheap rates. After that, he would sell the car to another person but would deliberately not transfer the RC (Registration Certificate) of the vehicle. Before selling the car, the dealer would install his own GPS device in the vehicle and would also get a duplicate key made.

A few moments after a car was sold, the accused, with the help of his associates, would get the car stolen using the same duplicate key and GPS location. Since the vehicle had not yet been transferred to the victim’s name on paper, technically, no case could be registered against the victim, allowing the accused to escape easily. After this, the gang would look to sell the stolen car to someone else.

Noida DCP Yamuna Prasad told one victim had also filed a complaint with Sector-113 police about a similar car theft. After receiving the complaint, the Sector-113 police formed a team led by Sarfabad police station in-charge Vishal Gupta to investigate the case. Vishal Gupta’s team uncovered the entire gang. The team arrested three accused, including a dealer. Currently, Sector-113 police have recovered the stolen Tata Nexon and a car key from the possession of the accused.
