Noida : This Diwali, once again the dreams of about 30 thousand people of Greater Noida have been shattered. After waiting for a long time, this time too these people have tears in their eyes. The wait of about 30 thousand home buyers in about 27 builder projects in the Greater Noida Authority area has become longer. Due to the stay from the court, the buyers in these projects are neither getting possession nor the registry process is being completed. After the recommendations of the Amitabh Kant Committee, these buyers had hoped to get a house, but now due to legal hurdles, once again their dream has remained unfulfilled.

22 projects have taken stay from the court

98 builder projects in Greater Noida come under the purview of the policy based on the recommendations of the Amitabh Kant Committee. Out of these, 58 builders have deposited up to 25 per cent of the dues. While 13 builders have paid 100 per cent of their dues, there are 27 such projects which have not yet paid even 25 per cent of the dues. Out of these, 22 projects have taken a stay from the court. Due to this the authority cannot take any action against them. Whereas the authority has prepared to take action against the remaining 5 builders for recovery of dues.

Registration of about 30,477 flats has been done

There are a total of 62,912 flats in all these projects. Out of which Completion Certificate (OC) has been issued for 38,661 flats and out of them 30,477 flats have been registered. The target of registration for the remaining flats is set for March 2025, but due to the stay of the court, the houses of about 30 thousand buyers are stuck in limbo. The authority has also recently issued a notice to 5 builders who have not paid the dues to deposit 25 per cent of the amount. Officials say that if these builders do not pay the dues by the stipulated time, then action can also be taken to cancel their allotment.
