Greater Noida West: Shardiya Navratri and Durga Puja were celebrated with great pomp and reverence in the Gulshan Bellina Society of Greater Noida West. The members of the society participated enthusiastically in this program which lasted for the whole nine days and worshiped Maa Durga. Special havan and bhandara were organized on the day of Durga Ashtami and Navami, in which all the families of the society participated together and distributed prasad.
Women enjoyed playing sindoor in front of the idol of Maa Durga
On the occasion of closing of the program, “Sindoor Khela” was traditionally organized by women. On this occasion, a large number of women gathered dressed in traditional saris and bid farewell to Maa Durga by applying vermilion and gulal to each other. During this, the festive atmosphere was full of joy, song, music and fun. Women enjoyed mutual goodwill and celebration while playing sindoor in front of the idol of Maa Durga.
Mixture of Faith and tradition
This religious event not only promoted faith and tradition but also spread the message of unity and brotherhood among the people of the society. Along with the immersion of Maa Durga, everyone prayed for her return and resolved to celebrate this festival on a bigger scale next year.
