GRATER NOIDA : A private company has set up a state-of-the-art cancer screening unit at GIMS in Kasna, Greater Noida. This is part of a major outreach initiative aimed at early detection of cancer in the community. The unit will be able to detect breast cancer and cervical cancer early in areas where such diagnostic services are currently not available.
Early detection plays a crucial role in identifying patients with symptoms at an initial stage, ensuring timely and effective treatment. The newly launched unit is fully equipped with advanced medical facilities, including an X-ray unit, a mammography machine, a colposcopy unit, laboratory testing capabilities, patient sofas for the cancer clinic, a mobile office, and all necessary equipment for cervical cancer screening.
According to the information received, JIMS Director, Dr. Brigadier Rakesh Gupta, stated that it will help strengthen outreach and screening capabilities. Through this mobile cancer screening unit, our aim is to bridge the gap in access to preventive healthcare and empower people with timely diagnosis. Dr. Saurabh, Dr. Rambha (Dean), Dr. B.S. Yadav, Dr. Satendra Kumar, Dr. Ritu Sharma, Dr. Aniruddh Saxena, among others, were present on this occasion.
