Fire in low-rise Supertech Oxford Square, this time due to the AC Compressor

Greater Noida West:  Fire broke out at 3 am on May 14th at Supertech Oxford Square in Greater Noida West. The reason for the fire was an explosion of the AC compressor installed on the balcony. The fire brigade came very late.

Know the whole matter

The fire was intensive and it grappled three more flats in flames. There was a thundering sound and people got frightened by such a kind of noise at 3 am, they hurriedly came down to save their lives. 

No fire safety, No equipement works

Residents allege that the fire alarm and other types of equipment installed on the premises do not work. Due to this, it took two hours of hard work, to extinguish the fire. The fire brigade also arrived after a long time, due to which people started protesting. 

Life under threat 

Residents allege that the fire safety systems are not up to mark. Residents joined various pipes and then they tried to extinguish the fire. For which security guards, residents and other people have worked hard till late at night. 

Loss of Lakhs of Rupees

There has been a loss worth lakhs of rupees due to the fire in the balcony of all four flats. It is alleged that high-rise and low-rise societies have been built in the complex, in which a large number of people are living. The arrangements to extinguish fire are not proper. 

The fire brigade arrived late

Information related to the fire was given to the fire department on time, but the vehicle arrived very late. The vehicle arrived after the fire was extinguished. On which the residents have expressed anger.

KD Singh, a resident, Oxford Square, Resident informs, “A loud sound came from the AC compressor installed in the balcony of flat 009 on the ground floor of B Block of the society. Ration and clothes were kept on the balcony of the flat. Due to this, the fire started spreading rapidly. The fire reached above the flat. Later the AC and Washing Machine caught fire.”

He further says, “The family was sleeping in the upstairs flat. People gave information about this. As the flames increased, two outer units of the AC installed in the balcony of flats 209 and 212 got burnt.”

Ajay Kumar, in charge, Ecotech 3 fire station, said that the fire started from the AC compressor installed in the flat. The fire had reached the spot, but before that, they had controlled the fire. A case of equipment not working has come to light.
